Microsoft Access 2010 allows you to easily create professionally formatted reports automatically from information stored in a database. In this tutorial, we're going to design a nicely formatted listing of employee home telephone numbers for the use of management using the Northwind sample database and Access 2010 . Before we get started, open up Microsoft Access and then open the Northwind database .

Congratulations, you've successfully created a report in Microsoft Access! The final report you see should appear similar to the one presented above. You should also note that the Employee Home Phone List report appears in the “Unassigned Objects” section of the Northwind database menu on the left side of the screen. If you wish, you may drag and drop this to the Reports section for easy reference. In the future, you can simply double-click on this report title and a new report will instantly be generated with up-to-date information from your database.
